Global X FANG+ ETF (FANG) — Review & Analysis
FANG is one of the most concentrated US tech ETFs on the ASX, tracking the NYSE FANG+ Index — just 10 of the largest US-listed tech and consumer disruptor names equally weighted. AUM is $1.76 billion as at May 2026 with a 0.35% p.a. management fee — undercutting NDQ (0.48%) and TECH (0.45%). Compare FANG across the tech cohort on our tech ETF page or use the Compare ETFs tool to put it side-by-side with NDQ or TECH.
The 10-stock equal-weighted structure is the central feature. Holdings include the original FANG names (Meta/Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix, Google/Alphabet) plus mega-cap additions (Microsoft, Nvidia, Tesla, Broadcom, ServiceNow or similar high-conviction names). Each holding sits near 10% at rebalance — meaning FANG has zero exposure to the broader 90 stocks that make up the Nasdaq 100 in NDQ. The result is extreme concentration on the highest-conviction US tech and consumer disruptors.
The 0.35% fee makes FANG materially cheaper than the broader US tech alternatives. The trade-off is risk concentration — single-stock news on any one of the 10 names has 10x more portfolio impact than in NDQ. The currency-hedged sister product is FHNG (0.38%) — only 3bp more for the AUD hedge.
FANG is unhedged. Returns have historically swung harder than NDQ in both directions because of the concentration. Our AI boom beyond NDQ guide covers FANG alongside other concentrated tech themes connected to AI infrastructure.
