Global X US 100 ETF (U100) — Review & Analysis
U100 is the cheapest Nasdaq 100 ETF on the ASX at 0.18% p.a. — 30bp cheaper than NDQ (0.48%) and meaningfully below every other Nasdaq-tracking product. AUM is $101.74 million as at May 2026, growing rapidly since launch. The fund tracks the Nasdaq 100 Index — the same benchmark as NDQ — at a fraction of the fee. Compare U100 across the tech cohort on our tech ETF page or use the Compare ETFs tool to put U100 vs NDQ side-by-side.
The U100 vs NDQ decision is straightforward in principle — same benchmark, same 100 stocks (Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Amazon, Meta, Google, Tesla, Broadcom, Costco), but U100 charges 30bp less. Over a 20-year holding period, that compounds into roughly 6% in cumulative cost savings — material for long-term holders.
The trade-off today is AUM scale. At $101M, U100 is materially smaller than NDQ's $8.96B, which means slightly wider bid-ask spreads at execution. For long-term holders, the fee saving outweighs the spread cost; for short-term traders, the execution gap can outweigh the fee differential. The 0.18% fee positions U100 alongside other cost-leadership products like BGBL (broad global, 0.08%) and A200 (ASX 200, 0.04%).
U100 is unhedged. Distributions are semi-annual reflecting the modest dividend yield of tech mega-caps. Our active vs passive ETFs guide covers the fee-vs-scale trade-off across passive index trackers.
