ETFS US Technology Currency Hedged ETF (HTTP) — Review & Analysis

HTTP gives Australian investors currency-hedged exposure to the largest and most liquid US technology companies, in one ASX-listed trade. It tracks the Solactive United States Technology Hedged to AUD Index, which weights companies by free-float market cap. The hedge means returns aren’t affected by movements in the AUD/USD exchange rate. It sits in the technology and hedged ETF categories and is one of the newest ETFs on the ASX.

The fund is led by Nvidia (16.3%), Apple (15.8%) and Microsoft (12.8%). Alphabet (about 12% across two share classes), Meta, Broadcom, Micron and AMD fill out the rest of the top ten, as at 15 October 2026. Information Technology makes up about 81% of the portfolio and Communication Services about 19%, so there’s almost nothing outside tech.

The management fee is 0.17% p.a. The fund launched on 11 September 2026 and is issued by ETF Shares Management Limited.

What to consider

  • Concentration: the top three holdings are over 44% of the fund and the portfolio is essentially all technology. It’s better suited as a satellite holding than a core one. See how to build your core portfolio with ETFs.

  • Overlap: these companies already sit inside broad US ETFs and Nasdaq funds such as NDQ, so a holding may increase your exposure to the same names. For the Magnificent 7 style, compare MAGS and WWWW, or use the Compare ETFs tool.

  • New and small: it is a very new fund with limited trading history (about A$0.9m in assets as at 14 October 2026), so check liquidity and bid-ask spreads before trading.

  • Hedging: removes currency movements in both directions. The AUD could rise or fall against the USD.
