BetaShares Nasdaq Next Gen 100 ETF (JNDQ) — Review & Analysis
JNDQ tracks the Nasdaq Next Generation 100 Index — the 100 stocks immediately below the Nasdaq 100 in market cap. Think of JNDQ as the "next 100" of Nasdaq companies that haven't yet graduated to the standard Nasdaq 100 included in NDQ. AUM is $13.57 million as at May 2026 with a 0.48% p.a. management fee — matching NDQ on fee. Compare JNDQ across the tech cohort on our tech ETF page or use the Compare ETFs tool to put JNDQ vs NDQ side-by-side.
JNDQ's holdings tend to be smaller, higher-growth Nasdaq names approaching the size threshold to graduate into the Nasdaq 100 itself. The thesis is to capture the next generation of mega-cap tech before they ascend to NDQ — historical examples include companies like Tesla, Nvidia and Meta that all spent time in this size bracket before becoming top-10 Nasdaq holdings.
The exposure is fundamentally different from NDQ — investors get higher-growth, higher-volatility, smaller-cap tech rather than the Apple/Microsoft/Nvidia mega-cap concentration. JNDQ has historically been more volatile than NDQ but with the potential for higher returns when the smaller tech segment leads. The 0.48% fee parity with NDQ means the choice between them is purely on factor/size exposure.
JNDQ is unhedged. The smaller-cap structure means JNDQ is more sensitive to risk appetite cycles than the diversified mega-cap NDQ. Our active vs passive ETFs guide covers how size and growth factors have performed in tech and broader markets.
