ETFS Magnificent 7+ Currency Hedged ETF (HULK) — Review & Analysis

HULK gives Australian investors currency-hedged exposure to the 10 largest US companies on the NASDAQ, in one ASX-listed trade. It tracks the Solactive Magnificent 7+ Hedged to AUD Index, so the fund’s returns aren’t affected by movements in the AUD/USD exchange rate. It sits in the hedged and technology ETF categories and is one of the newest ETFs on the ASX.

The portfolio covers the Magnificent 7 names (Meta, Microsoft, Apple, Nvidia, Alphabet, Amazon and Tesla). It also holds AMD, Micron and Broadcom, which gives it a heavier semiconductor tilt than the Magnificent 7 alone. As at 15 October 2026, the largest positions were Meta (11.9%), AMD (11.2%) and Tesla (10.8%). Information Technology made up about 60% of the fund, Communication Services about 21% and Consumer Discretionary about 20%.

The management fee is 0.19% p.a. The fund launched on 11 September 2026 and is issued by ETF Shares Management Limited.

What to consider

  • Concentration: ten stocks and roughly 60% in technology means returns will swing with a small group of companies. It’s better suited as a satellite holding than a core one. See how to build your core portfolio with ETFs.

  • Overlap: most of these companies already sit inside broad US ETFs and Nasdaq funds such as NDQ, so a holding may increase your exposure to the same names. For other Magnificent 7 funds, compare MAGS and WWWW, or use the Compare ETFs tool.

  • New and small: it is a very new fund with limited trading history (about A$0.9m in assets as at 14 October 2026), so check liquidity and bid-ask spreads before trading.

  • Hedging: removes currency movements in both directions. The AUD could rise or fall against the USD.
