AB Emerging Markets Strategic Core Equities Fund - Active ETF (MORE) — Review & Analysis
MORE is an active emerging-markets ETF from AllianceBernstein, listed on Cboe Australia at a 1.00% MER. It targets returns above the MSCI Emerging Markets Index by holding EM companies AB considers high quality, low volatility and reasonably valued — pitched as a smoother ride than typical EM exposure, not a punt on the highest-growth names. Unhedged to AUD, ~$5m AUM as at 31 July 2026.
At 1.00%, MORE sits at the expensive end of the EM shelf. Passive alternatives like IEM (0.69%), EMKT (0.67%) and VGE (0.48%) give broad EM exposure for a fraction of the fee, and the low-vol quality tilt is available cheaper via smart-beta options. MORE only earns its keep if AB's active stock selection meaningfully beats the index net of the extra 30-50 bps of fees — an unproven claim for a fund with less than a year of live track record.
