BetaShares Electric Vehicles and Future Mobility ETF (DRIV) — Review & Analysis
DRIV is the only dedicated electric vehicles and future mobility ETF on the ASX. The fund holds a global basket of EV manufacturers (Tesla, BYD, Li Auto, Rivian), battery and component suppliers, autonomous-driving technology companies, and broader future-mobility plays. AUM is $18.85 million as at May 2026 with a 0.67% p.a. management fee. Compare DRIV across the tech cohort on our tech ETF page or use the Compare ETFs tool to evaluate against broader tech alternatives.
The EV and future mobility thesis sits at the intersection of automotive, batteries, semiconductors and software. DRIV captures all four through a single ticker — quite different from pure-play funds like VOLT (lithium miners only) or ACDC (battery tech and lithium). Top holdings vary as the fund rebalances toward the dominant EV makers and supply chain leaders, with significant exposure to Tesla and Chinese EV champions.
DRIV's 0.67% fee is at the higher end of thematic ETFs. The trade-off versus broader tech exposure (NDQ, TECH) is concentration risk — the EV thesis has been highly volatile, with multi-hundred-percent rallies (2020-2021) followed by significant drawdowns as growth expectations were revised. DRIV's diversified value chain approach is more resilient than betting on a single EV name but still tracks the sector cycle.
DRIV is unhedged. The fund suits investors who want concentrated EV/mobility exposure without picking individual manufacturers. Our AI boom beyond NDQ guide covers DRIV alongside other tech-adjacent themes including semiconductors, copper and critical minerals.
