Global X Bloomberg Commodity Complex ETF (BCOM) — Review & Analysis
BCOM tracks the Bloomberg Commodity Index Total Return — a diversified basket of futures across energy, agriculture, livestock, precious metals and industrial metals. AUM is $69.71 million with a 0.66% p.a. fee. This is the only single-ticker option on the ASX for diversified broad commodity exposure. Compare BCOM against single-commodity peers on our commodities and resources ETF page.
BCOM differs from the equity-based resources ETFs (MVR, QRE, OZR) in a key way — it holds futures contracts directly rather than miner equities.
That means BCOM has no equity beta and no dividends, but it does carry roll yield drag in contango markets. Broad commodity exposure has historically performed strongly during inflationary regimes and weakly during deflationary cycles — a different return profile from equities and bonds.
BCOM serves a diversification purpose rather than a return-chasing one. It is unhedged. For investors thinking about how broad commodities fit alongside equity and bond holdings, our inflation-proof your portfolio guide covers the data.
